My Dad moved here November 2011 a year after he had a Whipple Procedure for Pancreatic Cancer. On one of our many trips to MD Anderson in The Woodlands a Volunteer was putting out pillows. I asked her what they were for and she explained patients that had had a mastectomy and undergoing radiation used them for counter pressure under their arms for the discomfort. I measured width and height and made a rough drawing of the shape. They are kind of an u-shaped opening at the top of a heart. Kind of resemble traveling pillows.First I made a mock-up then after her suggestions modified it a little and have been making them since. Last year was my first full year, also working part time I donated 94. This year will far surpass that. Doing for others to adds a bit of comfort or happiness to their day.
