Loving Stitches

Their group was started by a retired teacher from their Church, Most Sacred Heart. What began as a small group, has grown much larger. They meet the first and third Wednesdays of each month to knit, crochet and sew. They make breast cancer pillows used by chemo patients, stuffed bears, elephants and dinosaurs for children in the hospital, quilts, blankets, bibs and burp cloths, changing pads, totes and diaper bags. They knit and crochet hats for all ages, baby blankets, and baby sweaters. Each year there are more and more needy people that they can help. Last year, they donated over 1500 items. Marti told us “We do this to fill a need in the community. And we want to help. We enjoy the fact that we can help.”
