Helping Paws Art Club

“I have an after school art club, Helping Paws Art Club, at JP Elder Middle School where we make dog beds, toys, and bandanas for pets in our local animal shelters and rescue groups. We started the club at the beginning of the school year in August and have a devoted & compassionate group of 15 middle school students. We meet every Monday to work on our stuffing and sewing skills. Students have also volunteered a few Saturdays to help with adoption events for Saving Hope (a local rescue group). This is our first year and we have 47 beds, 87 bandanas, 15 cat toys, and 30 dog toys made so far. We plan on donating them at the end of May. The beds and catnip toys have Fairfield Poly-Fil goodness inside them.” explained Jodi Theodore.
