DIY Fall Bowl Supplies List
- Oly-Fun® Fabric in fall colors
- Plastic bowl (to use as a form)
- Plastic wrap
- Scissors
- Leaf templates or real leaves for tracing
- Mod Podge
- Foam brush or paintbrush
- Optional: Glitter Mod Podge or fine glitter for sparkle
- Optional: LED candle, pinecones, pumpkins, nuts, etc. for filler
Oly-Fun Fall Bowl Instructions:
Step 1: Choose Your Fall Palette
Pick autumn-inspired shades of Oly-Fun fabric—mixing colors gives this project beautiful depth!
Step 2: Trace and Cut Leaves
Print leaf templates or trace around real leaves from outside. Use scissors to cut leaf shapes from the Oly-Fun fabric. You’ll need around 25–35 leaves depending on bowl size.
Step 3: Prepare the Bowl Mold
Turn a bowl upside down and cover it completely with plastic wrap. This prevents sticking and makes it easier to remove the finished bowl.
Step 4: Add the First Layer
Using a foam brush, apply a coat of Mod Podge directly on the fabric leaves. Begin laying them onto the plastic-wrapped bowl, overlapping as you go.
Step 5: Seal the Layer
After arranging the leaves, brush a layer of Mod Podge over everything. This gives it extra durability and a smooth finish.
Step 6: Wrap and Dry
Cover the bowl with another layer of plastic wrap and press gently to help the leaves mold tightly to the bowl shape. Let it dry overnight.
Step 7: Remove and Dry
Carefully peel off the plastic wrap and remove your leaf bowl from the mold. Allow it to air dry until fully hardened.
Optional: Add Sparkle
Brush on a layer of Glitter Mod Podge if you’d like a little shimmer—beautiful for Thanksgiving tablescapes or cozy fall décor!
