Say hello to Jade Gauthier-Boutin, the Canadian maker behind All From Jade! She’s an amigurumi crochet designer, the author of Amigurumi Friends (available in English, French, and German), and she also teaches crochet online, sharing tons of free patterns along the way. Jade’s crochet journey started back in 2011 when she taught herself the craft. What began with scarves and mittens quickly transformed into a love affair with amigurumi. By 2019, she had designed her very first pattern, and just a year later, she took the leap and left her day job to dedicate herself fully to crochet.

Since then, Jade has collaborated with yarn companies, built a colorful library of no-sew patterns, and released several books (available now on Amazon!). She’s passionate about making crochet more accessible and fun for everyone, and it shows in her work. Let’s get to know her a little better!

What is your favorite project or tutorial and why?
“Honestly, it’s a tie between my Tiana the Sea Turtle and Paula the Octopus patterns because they’re both quick and no-sew! They’re so fun to make, and you can whip them up in any color.”
What would be a perfect crafternoon for you?
“Crochet, coffee, and a fun movie to watch!”

Pass the yarn, please! If you could invite four creatives/bloggers/makers to dinner, who would you choose and why?
- Theresa’s Crochet Shop – “She inspired me to start making amigurumi patterns.”
- All About Ami – “Her amazing blog is what made me fall in love with crochet.”
- Crochet Pink Pumpkin – “We had such a great connection during her podcast.”
- Crochet Me Zaddy – “I had the best time chatting with them on their podcast!”
Can you share one quote or saying you love?
“Only those who dare to fail greatly can ever achieve greatly.”

If you could replay a fun (or big!) moment in your crocheting career, what would you choose?
“When one of my patterns went viral for the very first time! Seeing the excitement from the crochet community was incredible.”
What technique or project would you try if you knew you couldn’t fail?
“I’d love to try punch needling or making a custom yarn rug!”

Finally, how would you describe your blog or your creative style in ten words or less?
“Colourful, adorable, and beginner-friendly patterns.”
