Abington Health Foundation

I am currently a volunteer for a non-profit organization called Knitted Knockers. This organization provides knitted breast prosthesis for women who have undergone mastectomies or other breast procedures. I volunteer my time and the women receive these free of charge. I have recently become involved with Abington Hospital- Jefferson Health. They are building a new outpatient cancer center and want to offer these “Knitted Knockers” free of charge to their female breast patients. We anticipate the need for 80 pairs of Knitted Knockers to be filled with the Poly-fil fiber fill at the single outpatient cancer center. My husband is a cancer survivor so I personally know the effects that cancer takes on someone. And I love knitting. I am fortunate that I can offer my talents in a way to help build someone up, and give a woman comfort and confidence, that has undergone this type of procedure.
