Step One

Cut 3” wide strips from each color of Oly-Fun™, cutting across the width of the fabric using the rotary cutter, mat and ruler.

Step Two

Fold each of the strips in half lengthwise and stitch, stitching ¼ “up from the cut edges. Note: Continuously stitch from one strip of Oly-Fun™ to the next saves time. Cut the pieces apart once the stitching has been completed

Step Three

Create the fringe effect by cutting down from the folded edge to just above the stitching line of each of the strips, spacing the cuts 1/8 of an inch apart. Do not cut into the stitching line. Note: Using a pair of multiple bladed scissors saves time.

Step Four

Each of the flowers consists of approximately a 20 inch length of Oly-Fun™. To create a flower, simply roll the strip upon itself, similar to a cinnamon bun being sure to the bottom edges are even at all times. Finish by gluing the end to the roll using the glue gun. Add glue to the bottom of the flower, gluing all of the layers together. Place the completed flower onto the parchment paper or other non-stick surface to cool.

Step Five

To create interest, flowers can be constructed using two or more colors. Simply cut the 20 inch strips into different lengths and roll them creating interesting color combinations. Another option is to lay ½ of a strip of one color on top of another full strip of and then roll the two colors together as one piece.
