Instructions

Step One

Ruffle Pillow Diagram 1

Using a ruler and pencil, mark lines on the right side of the 12” x 16” front fabric beginning with a diagonal center line as shown in Diagram 1.

Step Two

Pin one 1” x 30” pink fabric strip (A) right side up along the center diagonal line in 1 inch intervals allowing the fabric strip to bunch to form the ruffle. Align the center of the strip to the line. Note: The fabric strip may be extra long – allow extra fabric to hang off the edge.

Step Three

Sew down the center of the strip, removing pins as you sew.  Trim off any extra fabric from the strip.

Step Four

Repeat steps 2 & 3 to attach all fabric strips to the pillow front. Refer to Diagram 1 for the appropriate strip lengths to use.

Step Five

To finish the pillow, pin the front to the back with right sides together. Sew a ¼” seam along the two 16” edges and one 12” edge.  Turn right side out and press the open edges under ¼”. Insert the pillow form.

Step Six

Hand stitch closed using a ladder stitch as shown below.
