Rounds and Ridges Pillow

Categories: Decor, Pillow, Crochet

One of the latest trends in yarn crafts are self-striping cakes of yarn. Several brands have come out with there own versions, usually with 3-5 colors in each cake, long sections of each color. I decided to use one of those cakes of yarn for this project and the stripes create rounds of colors when crocheted in a circle. The pillow is made by working rounds of double crochet with some back post stitches to make ridges, like spokes, coming from the center of the pillow out. I used a 14″ pillow insert in the center and crocheted two circles around it. A reverse single crochet border finishes off the edge.

Instructions

  • round crochet pillow sides

Step One

You will make two identical sides to the pillow, a front and a back. I wanted the colors on each side to be different so that I could pick which one I liked the best and it would be sort of reversible. For that reason I worked one pulling yarn from the inside and one pulling yarn from the outside.
