The beautiful colors of fall are perfect to decorate our Thanksgiving tables. Using Oly-Fun™ to create the Oly-Fun™ Leaf Rings & Place Settings is the perfect choice if you are looking for something elegant yet fast and easy. Change out the colors as you see fit and create as many as needed. They also make a fun hostess gift to take along with you if you are lucky enough to be asked out for Thanksgiving.

What you need to make this project

Materials: Oly-Fun™ Brick; Oly-Fun™ Hot Fudge; Oly-Fun™ Lemon Drop; Oly-Fun™ Kiwi; Oly-Fun™ Orange Crush; Thread

Supplies: Sizzix Big Shot Die Cutting Machine & Leaf Die - optional; Straight Pins; Sewing Machine; Basic Sewing, Pressing and Measuring Tools & Supplies

Instructions

Step One

Cut out leaves from a variety of Oly-Fun™ colors. You will need approximately 15 leaves for each of the Oly-Fun™ Leaf Rings and 36 leaves for the Oly-Fun™ Place Setting . Additionally cut out one 12 inch circle for each project to use as a base. Cut circles from your choice of Oly-Fun™ colors. Diagrams have been provided. Note: A pattern has been provided for the leaf shape. Alternately you may use a die cutting machine such as the Sizzix Big Shot and a leaf shaped die, or an electronic cutting machine to cut out a leaf shape. See Diagram A

Step Two

Place Setting: Lay one of the 12 inch circles on a flat surface right side up and cover with leaves, starting by laying leaves along the outside edge of the circle with the leaves extending beyond the circle itself. See Diagram B

Step Three

Continue layering the leaves on top of each other until the base is covered. End with a single leaf in the center. Carefully lift the layers up and using straight pins; pin the layers together. See Diagram C

Step Four

Turn the place setting to the wrong side and sew two rows of stitching around the outside edge of the circle. Stitch across the middle of the place setting, stitching from the top edge of the inside row of the stitching to the opposite side. Repeat; stitching across the place setting horizontally. Finally sew two additional rows, stitching between the horizontal and vertical rows. See Diagram D

Step Five

Leaf Rings: Lay the Oly-Fun™ circle cut earlier on a flat surface right side up. Place leaves horizontally along the outside edge of the circle. Overlap the leaves, tucking in the stems.Pin to secure. See Diagram E

Step Six

Turn the Oly-Fun™ circle wrong side up and stitch around the outside edge of the circle. See Diagram F

Step Seven

Carefully remove the inside of the circle by trimming away the fabric next to the stitching line, cutting along the inside edge of the circle. See Diagram G
