Viva Fiesta! I created this adorable mini cactus garden to use as a centerpiece for celebrating fiesta in San Antonio, but you can use it as a fun piece of decor that you never have to water. Oly-Fun creates the perfect texture for these faux cacti.

Mini Cactus Garden Made with Oly-Fun Fabric

Create an adorable and prick-free mini cactus garden to decorate with! This will be perfect for Cinco de Mayo centerpieces, or for everyday decor.

What you need to make this project

Materials: Oly-Fun Craft Pack in Kiwi; Oly-Fun Craft Pack in Bubble Gum; Oly-Fun Craft Pack Clover; Stiffen Interfacing

Supplies: Plastic Container; Craft Stones; Glue Gun

Instructions

Step One

Print out the cactus template on paper. I used THIS template. Cut out the desired patterns.

Step Two

Cut two pieces of Oly-Fun fabric to fit a 10″ by 10″ cut of Stiffen Interfacing.

Step Three

Trace cactus pattern on the Oly-Fun fabric. You will need one full cactus piece and 6 half pieces.

Step Four

Start with the largest cactus piece. Glue a half cactus piece to the center of the full piece.

Glue two other half cactus pieces on either side of the piece you glued on in step three. Repeat steps 2 and 3 on the other half of the cactus.

Step Five

To make the flowers, use a hole punch to make 8-10 circles from Oly-Fun fabric. Fold the circles in half and skewer them on a pin. Use a dot of hot glue on the base of the bunch and add a full circle to hold the flower in place. Hot glue this to the top of the cacti.
