Continue working the same pattern, 3 dc in between each set of clusters along the side, 3 dc, ch 1, 3 dc in each corner, for a total of 18 rounds changing color each round rotating through the 4 colors

Step Four

Stitch the sides of the granny square together by working a slip stitch through the back loops of each side. Starting in one corner insert your hook in the back loop on one side then insert in the back loop on the other side, pick up your working yarn and pull through, repeat. Stitch from one corner all the way to the opposite corner diagonally, then start at one of the other corners and repeat. You are basically stitching an x on the back.

Step Five

You can use either side as the front of your pillow, the more classic looking granny square side, or the side with the x. By making this in red, green, gray, and white it is perfect for Christmas but it could easily be made in any color to match your decor or the holiday.
