Cauldron Pincushions - Halloween

These adorable cauldron pincushions may great for adding a bit of Halloween whimsy to your sewing space, but Harry Potter fans will love them all year to keep the wizarding world close and add a bit of magic to all of their sewing.

You can find mini-“candy kettle” cauldrons at your local party store around Halloween or order them online any time of year. Pictured pins are my personal favorite kind…extra long color ball pins from Dritz.

What you need to make this project

Materials: Poly-Fil® Poly Pellets® Weighted Stuffing Beads; Poly-Fil® Premium Fiber Fill; Mini Plastic Cauldrons (Candy Kettles); Cuddle Fabric Scraps

Instructions

Step One

Gather your supplies. Mini-“candy kettle” cauldrons can be found at your local party store around Halloween or order them online any time of year. This is a great way to use up fabric scraps. We especially loved the texture of Cuddle 3 fabric scraps. Fabrics shown include Solid Cuddle® 3 Gold, Solid Cuddle® 3 Kiwi, Embossed Chevron Cuddle® Orange, Luxe Cuddle® Lattice Jewel.

Cut your fabric scrap, so that it is about twice as bit as the opening to your cauldron. I didn’t measure mine or cut them exactly, but they’re about 4 inches square.

Step Two

Fill your cauldron about 1/2 full with Poly-Fil® Poly Pellets® Weighted Stuffing Beads. This will make your cauldron bottom heavy and help it stay upright.
