Instructions

Step One

Cut two pieces of sand fabric and one piece of batting to measure 50” X 70” using the rotary cutter, mat and acrylic ruler.

Step Two

Stitch the batting to one piece of the sand colored fabric (¼” seam allowance).  This will hold the batting in place.

Step Three

Stack the three layers together, placing the batting in the middle.  Using a ¼” seam allowance, stitch all three pieces together to form the cover, leaving the raw edges showing.  On the sides with no selvage, fray the fabric a bit to soften edge.

Step Four

Sew a border completely around the cover 1” in from the edge.  This will give a slight quilting to the cover.  If desired, add additional quilting stitches.

Step Five

Make 20 3” tassels using the indigo blue cotton yarn and tassel maker.

Step Six

Attach 10 tassels to each 50″ side.  Thread the tassels through the fabric and knot to secure in place.

Download our suggestions to assist with dying the chunky cotton yarn. Dying process will take 6 to 8 hours. Air dry time 3 to 6 hours depending on location. Yarn must be completely dry before tassels can be made.
