The Stitch and Go Tote is handy for organizing on the go.
A companion to the Stitch and Go Linens, this soft and pliable tote is excellent for transporting pillows, towels, blankets, toys and even picnic supplies. The basic design makes it easy to increase tote size for those with oodles more stuff. Designed By: Fairfield Design Team
Designer Notes: Larger totes make terrific hampers. Tuck into a corner or closet. Personalize by adding a monogram or name.
Around Halloween, we all scramble to come up with quick costume ideas for those last minute parties. This no-sew OlyFun spider web capelet is an answer to your conundrum. It can be used as a capelet, but if you make the center circle larger, it will go over a fluffy crinoline skirt. I made it in jet black OlyFun, but if you want it to stand out more, make it in Snow White OlyFun. OlyFun is great for intricate cuts, like a spider web, as it doesn’t fray and cuts like paper. This took me a little over an hour, which is awesome for that moment you realize a costume is needed immediately! Want your spider web costume to shimmer? Spray some fabric glitter over it! Wear all black and a spider in your hair or a spider broach on the web, for a classic look. For something more whimsical, wear bright colors and pay homage to those giant orb weaver spiders that creep around making huge intricate webs, every Autumn…catching those late Summer insects and saving you some mosquito bites while you get your trick or treating on. Otherwise, they’re harmless, much like you after one too many candy bars. We’ve all been there.View Project
This sun and moon witch’s robe kimono jacket is perfect for a respectful Halloween costume or normal mystical wear. This video tutorial shows how to make a basic kimono jacket that can be created in any color, but black is traditional for witches. I used quilting cotton, but you could try this with any lightweight fabric including chiffon and lace. I used silver, gold, and white Tulip Soft Fabric Paint to create a star inspired splatter paint design. For the sun and moon applique, I used fabrics and Fairfield World Stick Fusible Interfacing. It’s my favorite interfacing for fusible applique, as it doesn’t gum up the needle. I used Decorative Trimmings 4″ black chainette fringe to add weight and movement to the sleeves. Without a substantial trim, the sleeves will stick out a bit. Decorative Trimmings have a lot to pick from. You could certainly add trim to the front and bottom of this kimono.View Project
This cute and cuddly mermaid doll is so much fun to play with. My little girls absolutely love it. At 18″ tall it is the perfect size for carrying around, playing, and cuddling with. Any little girl who dreams of being a mermaid will love this doll. She is worked starting from the bottom of the tail to the top of the head, the tail, body, and head worked in one piece. The arms and hair wig are made separately and sewn on. A flower in her hair adds an extra special finishing touch.View Project
Our kitchen got a retro style makeover, so our old stool got improved too. I used oilcloth, Fairfield World 16″ Round Cushion Foam, Fairfield World Poly-Fil Hi-Loft Batting, DecoArt Americana Decor Satin Enamels Paint in Smoke Grey, DecoArt Americana Decor Metallics Paint in Silver, Dritz Home Staple Gun and Staples. Our old kitchen was mostly white, which while that’s a current design trend, it’s very hard to upkeep and quickly looks dirty. My home decor style is full of color and vintage flair, so the newly remodeled kitchen is packed with retro inspiration. Our old stool came with the house, and accompanied a hard to clean wood floating bar top. Some scrubbing, new paint, foam, batting and oilcloth easily turned a boring stool into something fabulous and much more comfortable. Oilcloth is great for kitchens, as it can be easily wiped off.View Project

This vampire coffin cross body purse is perfect as a Halloween bag or for the pretend Vampire hunter in your life. This bag uses quilting and applique techniques to create a sturdy design. It has two large pockets inside, creating three compartments large enough to hold all of your necessary items, including a stake and some holy water if you need them. Most coffin bags have top opening that are narrow and hard to get into. This coffin opens wide at the top, so your hand will easily slip inside. Halloween is approaching, so I created this OlyFun Halloween Pumpkin Wall Art to decorate my porch. I used Orange Crush, Pine, Hot Fudge, and Clover OlyFun to create my pumpkins. They would look great in Slate, Lemon Drop and Snow White too. I kept my pumpkins simple, but you could use fabric paint to add patterns and Jet Black OlyFun to add Jack-O-Lantern faces if desired. I used and embroidery hoop and wire wreath as bases for my pumpkins, using pipe cleaners and zip ties to secure the details. Hot glue would work well on the embroidery hoop too. Head to my website, Crafty Lady Abby, to create your own OlyFun Halloween Pumpkin Wall Art.View Project
I used an artist’s paint palette as inspiration for this oversized tote bag. I used Fairfield World OlyFun, which cuts like paper and doesn’t fray. This bag is great for back to school, whether you’re a teacher or student. It’s big enough to put sketch books, drawing supplies, paint supplies, whatever else you need for transportable art making. I suggest putting small things inside a pouch before slipping it inside this bag, as it has no closure. You hold the bag by what would normally be a thumb hole on a wood paint palette. Head over to my blog, Crafty Lady Abby, to make your own Artist Paint Palette OlyFun Tote Bag.View Project
This quilt is so fast and easy to put together than you can easily finish in a day. We chose to use a giant rail fence pattern for easy construction and to use the whole width of cuddle fabrics. The giant blocks let all the fun cuddle textures do the talking.
Cuddle fabrics come 60″ wide. Our fabrics all come from Shannon Fabrics. Our quilt includes Luxe Cuddle® Ziggy in Snow, Luxe Cuddle® Lattice in Snow, Rose Cuddle® in Snow White, Embossed Heart Cuddle® in Snow White, Embossed Arrow Cuddle® in Snow White, Luxe Cuddle® Marble in Snow, Luxe Cuddle® Chenille Snow White, Luxe Cuddle® Velvet Snow White, and Embossed Star Cuddle® Snow White. This quilt could be equally cuddly and fast done up with any cuddle fabrics. We used Embossed Heart Cuddle® in Snow White for backing and Solid Cuddle® 3 Snow White for binding.
The fabric requirements given for this pattern are for 60″ wide fabric. If you’re using fabric with a smaller width, you would need additional fabric.View Project

Use faux-fur like this husky material from Shannon Fabrics, or maybe use printed fleece with your school’s logo. Any sturdy material will work with this project. This project is perfect for the entire family as they gather together in the family room or lounge in a bedroom.View Project

I made this DIY Weeping Angel Costume for my daughter this past Halloween. If you aren’t familiar with a “Weeping Angel”, they are characters from the popular British sci-fi show “Doctor Who”. They looks like huge angel statues commonly found in cemeteries and gardens, with their hands over their eyes, weeping. These however will send you back in time if they catch you. They only way to stop them is to look at them, which is tricky when you are running from them. They 1st appear in the episode “Don’t Blink”, so check it out if you are interested. This costume took me about a day to complete. That was mostly waiting for paint to dry. For this costume, the dress, wings and mask tutorials are featured here. To find out how to complete this costume…makeup, hair, and other elements, head to my blog Crafty Lady Abby.View Project
This Round Crochet Cluster Stitch Pillow has a front made of rounds of cluster stitches worked in a pattern of 5 different colors. The back is made of rounds of half double crochet to create a more solid fabric. The two sides are joined using a single crochet stitch around the outside edge and a 14 inch round pillow insert is put inside as you are closing the pillow. I chose some bright pastel colors for my pillow because they give the pillow a springy feel but you could make it in any colors, use more colors, fewer colors, whatever you want.View Project

Do you have any Pokemon fans in your house? If so they will love this big, round Pokeball pillow. It is made by crocheting two halves using half double crochet, that are then sewn together with a 12″ round pillow ball inside. Because of the way it is sewn together the pillow insert is sewn completely inside and is not removable. A crocheted circle appliqué is sewn on after the pillow is assembled to complete the Pokeball. It is the perfect pillow for any Pokemon fan.View Project
Conversation hearts and gifts are ubiquitous for Valentine’s Day. In this project, I combined them to make gift card sleeve envelopes, perfect for friends or loved ones. These are easily customizable, using a Silhouette Cameo. You can alter the text, with the person’s name or a short phrase. I chose my daughter’s nickname, and phrases commonly found on conversation hearts. For this project, you will need Gift Card Sleeve Part 1 and Part 2. OlyFun is a fabric that cuts like paper and doesn’t fray, making it perfect to use with a Silhouette Cameo. I chose regular OlyFun colors that resemble the candy colors, and red metallic OlyFun to match the candy printing. Though I made these gift card sleeve envelopes for Valentine’s Day, these are perfect for other holidays, birthdays, weddings, births, and celebratory gift giving occasions. These can hold small items like money, gift cards, jewelry, and other small treats. Unlike regular gift card sleeves, these are reusable, making them both a container and a gift.View Project
My dining room chairs got a long overdue foam and fabric update. They are hand me downs from my parents…that I got 13 years ago. They were mismatched from various periods of my parents recovering them. They are over 30 years old. One still had the original fabric (a 70s flashback vinyl) and all probably had the original foam. You all probably have chair like this. Ones that you love, but are uncomfy because the foam is worn out. They are ugly because your cats use them as a scratching post. You know the chairs I’m talking about. I was overjoyed to get the chance to give these chairs a much needed update, using Cushion Foam, Project Foam and Quilt Batting from Fairfield World. Unlike a normal reupholstering tutorial, I’m going to show you how to replace that worn out foam too!
Project Notes: The foam should hold up to regular use for about 5-8 years, but maybe longer. I’m hoping this fabric holds up to my cat’s scratching abuse. You want to choose a fabric made for upholstery, for the most durability. These will be thicker than your normal craft and clothing fabrics. They are available in many prices, colors, textures, and patterns. Choose ones that fit your style, aren’t trendy, and will coordinate with your decor. If your chair frame needs a little love, like cleaning, paint or restaining, tackle that while the seat and backing are off. As you can see, the chairs match my wood floors. They do need some cleaning though, which can be easily done with some wood cleaner and a rag or paper towel.View Project
I love experimenting with incorporating florals into my projects when I can. When Fairfield World challenged us Master Makers to create something with their foam tuffet, I immediately thought of those fancy embroidered floor poufs. I could have done this with fabric paint, but that wouldn’t be a challenge for me. Instead I opted to create a floral motif using free motion embroidery and bright thread. I used black canvas that Robert Kaufman graciously sent me. I could have done this in white or grey, but felt black would show less dirt and have better contrast with the bright colors. You can change up the colors to better fit your decor. I’ll definitely be revisiting free motion embroidery in the future, as I enjoy using it to make my artwork more textural. If this seems too intricate for you, create a simpler design with less rounds and detail. This idea would also be great for a pillow, of which Fairfield World has many different pillow inserts.View Project
I made these DIY cat ears and tail using Oly*Fun, fiberfil, and glitter. My daughter needed a simple costume that she could wear at school and a couple of parties. We agreed that a black cat costume would be the most comfortable. This is her 2nd Halloween costume for this year. Her 1st is a Weeping Angel from Doctor Who, which is here and here. If cats aren’t your thing, you could use this costume concept for other animals…mouse, fox, dog, racoon, monkey…etc. Alter the colors and shapes to fit your needs. One Grab & Go Oly*Fun roll will make a lot of ears and tails…and many other costume pieces. This can be great for plays or other times where you need multiples of the same costume. If you don’t like glitter (It’s very messy!), you can add details using Tulip Soft Fabric Paint in Matte or Velveteen.View Project
I made this vintage style DIY Apron using Oly*Fun fabric, for my messy artist daughter. Oly*Fun can be easily wiped off and is durable. The full apron protects her clothing from her art projects. The big pockets allow her to easily gather supplies for projects. This apron can be custom fit to anyone. I’ve made them for little kids to ladies of all sizes. My daughter is 4’11”, with a 24″ waist, for your sizing reference of how I determined my pattern measurements. You can make this with multiple colors of Oly*Fun or all one color. You can paint the Oly*Fun fabric, if you would like a print. You do not need to hem the fabric, which is great for fancy scalloped designs and cut outs. Feel free to use my tutorial as a base for your own creative apron design. The chosen colors create a color-blocked effect.View Project
I love the look of stuffed fabric pumpkins for Autumn decor. I decided to use lots of Oly*Fun to create various sizes of pumpkins to decorate my porch and house this year. Oly*fun is a great for outdoor projects and the pumpkins look great on my covered porch. If you are decorating outside, you can keep them on a covered area. They double as decorative pillows, and hold up well to lots of hugs. My daughter has given all of ours a good squeeze.View Project
Halloween is when the dead rise to haunt us. This zombie bride costume is straight from the grave…ok maybe not. However, with the rise of zombie culture, this OlyFun costume is sure to be a hit. This costume requires some knowledge of draping on a dress form. However, if you don’t have a dress form, you can drape it on the person it’s for. If it’s for yourself, get a friend to help you. The OlyFun yardage I used was for my petite daughter. If you’re curvier or want a fuller dress, you will need more yardage and to sew two long pieces together before draping. OlyFun doesn’t fray, making it great for distressing and quick costumes. Snow White OlyFun is sheer. You can either double it up, or wear a skin toned slip under it, as my daughter is. Add any creepy accessories you desire, for a more dramatic zombie look.View Project
