Hand on Hearts with Girl Scouts

HAND ON HEARTS event with the Girl scouts

AllFreeSewing and FaveQuilts welcomed Girl Scouts to create gorgeous pillows for our Hand-on-Hearts Breast Cancer Pillow Drive (http://ow.ly/ClC5o).The event was a huge success with tons of participants, lots of fabric, filling from Fairfield World and even machines from Bernina USA!

The Girl Scout troop participated to learn basic sewing and to give back to their community by contributing to the Hand on Hearts pillow drive.

The girls learned how to work with patterns and trace a template.

How to properly cut the pattern.

How to have a little fun.

Have a little more fun

How to thread a sewing machine and operate the machine.

Donors should send their completed pillow(s) to the address below between October 1st and October 31st, 2014. We will be personally delivering them to the American Sewing Guild of Chicago and the American Cancer Society.
