Michele Scott

Favorite Craft: Fabric and Quilt Design/Quiltmaking

Approximately twenty years ago, Michele decided to take up a little hobby of quilting to pass the time. Like every other self-respecting “quilt-a-holic”, it quickly became a passion.  This passion led her to become a quilt educator.  Her main goal is to conduct positive upbeat classes that teach solid techniques and give all levels of quilters new confidence. Michele’s trademark humor combined with her extensive quilting knowledge make any of her workshops or lectures well worth attending. For the past 18 years, she has taught at many quilt guilds and shows across the United States and Canada.  At the same time that Michele began lecturing and teaching, she began working with McCall’s Quilting and Quick Quilts magazines. She’s had more than 75 quilts published in their magazines, as well as Quilter’s Home, For the Love of Quilting, AQS magazines and others.

Michele’s greatest passion by far is designing fabric for Northcott Silk. Her ninth line entitled A is a Alligator will be debuting at Quilt Market, 2015. Graphic design is a just another way to express her creativity, and it’s so wonderful for her to use the textiles created in quilts!

Most exciting by far, her book, Bobbin’ Quiltin’ and Fusin’ Fun was debuted by AQS. Additionally, Michele paired up with Aurifil Threads to create her own line of machine quilting threads called Prism and Calypso.
