Designer: Lucy Morey
I have been a self-proclaimed artist from a very young age, having a strange obsession with fabric. Walking into a fabric store triggers something in me unlike anything else. I find the colors, textures and prints to be intoxicating, captivating, and a great medium for limitless possibilities! (Even if I don’t know what I’m going to make with it I have to buy it!) I tweaked and altered my own clothes starting in Jr. High, and was given my first sewing machine as a high school graduation present from my parents. I became a practical sewer after having children and enjoy sewing for my own home as well as for my family and friends. I am a wife of 17 years, mother of 3 boys, and currently live in Highlands Ranch, Colorado.
After spending a year helping my niece with her girls pattern company, I started my own pattern company called Hot Scott Patterns in 2009 specializing in boys clothing and accessory sewing patterns. I combined my love for design and fabric and debuted my first fabric collection in October 2010 with Studio E Fabrics, called Pacific Trade Winds!
Having my own business and being a full time wife and mother has been challenging and so rewarding at the same time! I have found that balance is important! I feel inspiration is endless! After years of searching for that perfect fit in the design world, I am finally in a place where I can harness and channel my artistic abilities to create something fun and useful for others to incorporate into their lives and enjoy! Unleashing my creative soul and finding my niche sustains me day after day!
