Create some wonderful holiday snow accents with Poly-Fil® Fluffy Snow. It’s light and fluffy polyester fiber resembles the look of freshly fallen snow. Unlike regular snow blankets, Fluffy Snow is un-bonded making it stretchable, moldable and shapeable so you can create natural looking hills, valleys, drifts and snow-covered eves. It can be unrolled and used as one continuous sheet, stretched out to cover more surface area or pulled apart and used as accents for your décor. Add some winter wonder to Christmas villages, trains, mantels, centerpieces, or the base of your Christmas tree. You can use it as a dusting of new snow that has fallen on tree branches, rooftops and window panes and wreaths. And it’s not just for Christmas – Fluffy Snow makes great clouds, smoke, school classroom or bulletin board displays, theater productions, stage scenery, costumes and Frozen or winter themed birthday parties. Great for Halloween, Thanksgiving and New Year décor. Let your creative mind flow withView Product

Before we get started I just want to say that I tried very hard to make this pattern easy enough for anyone to follow (even someone totally new to crocheting). With that being said, if you do end up dropping a stitch somewhere there’s no need to panic. We’re essentially making a cone shape and a half-sphere shape. Even if you do drop a stitch here or there or if your count doesn’t perfectly match up with mine, chances are that in the end you’re still going to end up with something that looks like a cone and a half-sphere. When I first started following patterns they would give me such anxiety because I couldn’t keep my stitch count exactly the same as what the pattern said. I was always so scared that if I was even one stitch off my project wouldn’t be right. While that does hold true for some patterns, this pattern is basic enough that it will still work out even if you’re off a little. The thing about making art is that there’s no wrong way to do it. This is supposed to be fun and everyone’s projects will turn out slightly different. So just have fun with it. If you have any questions you can contact me at [email protected]View Project

Most of us entertain during the holidays and serving food is always on the entertaining list. It does not matter if the food is to be served is cold or hot, it is always a challenge to keep it the correct temperature. Make this serving tray to help control the temperature of the food. The key to the tray is the “Aluminor”, which is a thermal insulating barrier. It will keep hot things hot and cold things cold. This reversible serving tray is to not for lifting and serving, but for sitting and maintaining the food’s temperature within the upright sides. It is also just beautiful by itself as a decorating piece as seen in this picture.View Project
For this year’s Halloween costume, I created a sweetheart apron inspired the Annabelle doll, as seen in a horror film series. This apron used Fairfield World Structure, Stabilize, and Smooth fusible interfacings, combined with cotton fabrics and threads. I used images of Annabelle from her movie, Annabelle Creation, as a guide for the complete costume. I chose to stop the apron at knee length, to prevent a trip hazard. The apron I made uses D-Ring closures at the waist and neck, which are similar to readymade aprons. In the past, I’ve used long ties, forming a bow in the back for closure. This apron can be reused for other costumes or cooking.View Project
I made this Rainbow Inspiration Quote Banner Wall Hanging for a soon to be born baby. The quote means that life is a balance of good and bad. You can’t have only joy, as there will be some pain. Though my intended recipient is a child, this quote banner is good for anyone. This wall hanging can be done in any color palette. I backed white cotton with Stick Double Sided Fusible Interfacing. I painted a rainbow design using fabric paints. Then, I used a Silhouette Cameo to cut out the quote. I made a banner shape with white cotton fabric, and Stiffen Double Sided Fusible Interfacing inside for stability. I painted the banner with fabric paints to represent the clouds in life. I used silver fabric paint for cloud shadows, or the silver lining to life. The words fused easily to the painted banner. To see all the instructions of how to make your own Rainbow Inspiration Quote Banner Wall Hanging, head over to my blog Crafty Lady Abby.View Project
Whether starting pre-school or staying at home, your little one will love this soft and comforting nap mat, and you will love the protection it provides. Shield liner fabric is used on both sides. The bottom is protected from becoming moistened by Mother Nature and the top is protected from any accidents. The clever part is that the nap mat uses soft Fairfield World NuFoam Pads that can be removed for washing.View Project
Love keeps a home warm, but this will help too! Door draft stoppers are a dime a dozen, but this one is unique. It is lined with Solarize Liner Fabric, which is an insulating thermal barrier fabric. It is perfect to keep the draft out and the warmth in. It is filled with Poly-Fil® Poly Pellets® to keep it in place and snug to the floor. The design is a 90-degree triangle with a strip of Stiffen so it fits well against the door and the floor, not allowing for a draft to seep through. It has a removable core so the cover can easily be washed. It is very versatile, in the summer, use it as a door stopper or to keep the picnic tablecloth from blowing away.View Project
Make a OlyFun Paint Brush Roll with Secret Pocket and go back to school in style. I’m not just talking about students, us art teachers need cool things too. This project is great for storing your paintbrushes while on the go. There’s a secret pocket in the paintbrush image to hold small things like IDs, money, erasers, and jewelry. I spaced my sections to be 1″ each, but you could make them wider or thinner. You could also make a variation of this project for crochet hooks and knitting needles, making the secret pocket rectangle for stitch markers and scissors. I painted the Jet Black OlyFun with fabric paints to keep with the painting theme, but you could leave it plain or do a different design. You could even put “Property of (name)”. For cosmetic brushes, check out my Makeup Brush Roll with Shield and Smooth Interlinings.View Project
Nothing beats getting outdoors as the temperatures drop. It’s the best way to pass the winter months, keep the body moving and make sure you get all that Vitamin D! The key to getting outside is having the right equipment to keep you warm. That’s why I invented this toasty warm funnel neck vest. It’s an easy DIY that hugs the core with warmer than warm wool batting and a massive funnel neck that create a ‘zone of warmth’ for your face. After a few hours behind the sewing machine you can tromp around outside snug as a bug! And awfully cute too. 🙂View Project
Your home will look like a Winter Wonderland when you make these enchanting Christmas trees and wreath with batting from Fairfield World. The soft fluffy batting creates an effect like a blanket of snow and combined with fallen birch branches, it takes your imagination to a magical place. The wreath and the trees are super simple to make and can be brought out year after year to decorate your home for Christmas.View Project
This dark elf is a fantasy costume perfect for Halloween or Renaissance Faires. It’s customizable in any color combo and size. I used Fairfield World Smooth Fusible Fleece Interfacing to reinforce the waistband, keeping it flat and sturdy while wearing. My stash of knit and mesh fabrics is mostly black, white and grey, so I used what I had on hand. The bustle is about mixing prints and textures, which include faux leather, fishnet, leopard, skulls, and metallics. This dark elf can become a fairy with the addition of these Dark Fairy Costume Wings. I paired this bustle with a body con dress, no-sew hooded vest, fishnet gloves, boots, a leaf necklace and my OlyFun Black Bird Mask.View Project
This metallic celestial tuffet works as a stool, ottoman or chair. I used a Fairfield World Soft Support Foam Tuffet Kit, hand painted canvas fabric and hairpin legs to create this custom furniture piece. The colors match my decor, but you can customize this project to fit your decor. Instead of sewing a fitted cover, I used Dritz heavy duty staples and staple gun to attach the fabric, pleating the sides for an easy cover. Fairfield World OlyFun makes a great dust cover for the underside of furniture. I used Jet Black OlyFun, to disguise the layers of staples, blending in with the black canvas and black hair pin legs.View Project

This picnic blanket is made with OlyFun to create rainbow stripes using reverse applique and quilt binding techniques. I chose a rainbow of colors, but you could use any of the 19 OlyFun colors. This blanket will roll up small for travel, and expand large for picnics, festivals, concerts, and any outdoor event. OlyFun cuts like paper, making it great for a reverse applique technique that won’t fray. OlyFun is suitable for short uses outdoors, but isn’t recommended for long term weather exposure. This means it’s totally fine for your concert use, but not as an outdoor rug. Speaking of outdoor projects, I used this same technique to make this OlyFun Waves Spring Outdoor Flag, which was ok for short use, but started to break down after being outside for a few months.
Bold and beautiful, Khir 2 is the perfect match to our Khir 1 pillow design. My glowing snowy winter wonderland is a twist on traditional holiday decor. I used metallic, black, and white, with pops of cool colors. The Fairfield World Project Fleece, Poly Pellets and Poly Pellets add a delightful snowy effect to this scene. This display can be done in any color scheme, as the Oriental Trading tulle and DecoArt paints come in many colors. It can be placed on a mantle, table or other flat surface. Test out different sized clear containers and objects to see what combination works best. This project has both written and video instructions. To see how I made this holiday display, watch my Glowing Snow Winter Wonderland video tutorial.

This Polar Bear Baby Quilt uses simple patchwork and is easy to make because it’s just 6 inch squares, but adding some puffy soft polar bears in Shannon Fabrics Cuddle® turns it into something really special. The Cuddle® Fabric boarder and backing make this especially warm and cozy. You can go with anything from a thinner cotton batting. This quilt is going to a new baby in northern Alaska, so we thought some wool batting was in order and we love how the combination of wool batting and the Cuddle® backing combined to really show off the quilting.
The quilt was designed using EQ7.View Project

***MATERIALS AMOUNTS MAKE 2 CUSHIONS*** Divide amounts in half if you are making only one cushion.
Box cushions are SO versatile and are surprisingly easy to make. They are great for recovering chair or sofa cushions that need an update or for making giant bean bags and floor cushions. They’re perfect for home and school settings and can be folded, twisted and doubled up for relaxing in lots of positions. Keep on to yourself or sit with a friend, the possibilities are endless. We chose to keep ours as simple as possible without piping, but you could easily add piping to add a little extra bling and definition. Adding a layer of Shield Moisture and Allergen Barrier Fabric underneath could also turn this in to a great dog bed.
We love the Cut-to-Size Upholstery Zippers from Dritz for this project…one of these zippers is large enough for both cushions, plus some extra zipper length left over for another project.
The contrast pillows included in the picture are made from anti-pill fleece using the Simple Zippered Pillow Tutorial here.View Project

Crochet a basket style bed to go along with your crocheted baby doll, and make a little blanket and pillow to match. This little bed set along with the baby doll would be the perfect Christmas gift for a little girl who loves baby dolls, or a fun gift for a soon-to-be big brother or sister. The basket is made holding two strands of yarn together to make it more sturdy and has Stiffen heavyweight interfacing in the base to keep it flat. The little blanket is a simple granny square and it can be made to match the doll and the bed or it is a great project for scraps. The little pillow is made with single crochet and stuffed with Poly-Fil fiber fill. This patter is for the bed, blanket, and pillow only.
