Description
Beautiful, colorful woven ribbons, placed side-by-side, imitate the look of traditional log cabin patchwork in this easy-to-sew pillow made by Elaine Schmidt using Fairfield's Fusi-Boo batting and Soft Touch Pillow. The ribbons are fused to a background fabric and the cut ends of the ribbons are covered by overlapping rows as the design is built from the center out. The abutted ribbon edges are finished with zig-zag or decorative machine stitches. This is a perfect project for using the precious ribbon bits in your stash. Choose a group of 7 – 12 coordinating woven ribbons in various widths. Keep in mind that many woven ribbons are reversible and each side can be used for a different look.
Mix patterns with dots and stripes and even solid ribbons to create this modern and crazy take on log cabin patchwork.
