Colleen is a cloth art doll and craft designer offering patterns, online classes and in-person workshops. Originally from Canada, Colleen has a degree in Theatre Design & Production from York University in Toronto. As cloth doll design is basically miniature costuming, Colleen enjoys putting her knowledge of historical costume into many of her designs. Having lived in London, England for the past 12 years, Colleen regularly teaches both in the UK and across Canada and the US. Colleen has contributed dolls to Patti Medaris Culea’s book Creative Cloth Doll Beading as well as Barbara Willis’ book Cloth Doll Artistry. Colleen has also been featured in Simply Homemade, Soft Dolls and Animals, Doll Crafter and Costuming, and Art Doll Quarterly magazines. One of Colleen’s goals is to make sure that each design is a new and fresh concept with a distinctly shaped pattern. Dolls that have a practical purpose are a particular passion with dolls that double as clocks, jewellery holders or eye glass caddies all forming part of her collection of designs. Over-riding all of these interests is Colleen’s passion for sharing everything she knows to help people create to the best of their ability and have fun while doing it.
