Tammy Silvers and Julia LaBauve started Outside the Line Designs in 2006 after several years of friendship and quilting. They met when Julia decided to take a beginners quilting class thinking that it would improve her garment sewing skills. Guess what?  Tammy was the teacher! Gradually, they realized they had many ideas in common and decided to get together to actually make a reality some of those ideas. As a team they have designed many quilts that play off of their combined interests and strengths, as well as their mutual love of vibrant fabric and strong graphic design. Their work is regularly published in a variety of quilt magazines, including Quilt, McCalls Quilting, Quiltmania and Create and Decorate. They also collaborate with some of the major fabric manufacturers designing projects to showcase and promote new and upcoming fabric lines.  Authors of the AQS book Small Quilts, Big Events, Tammy and Julia are also developing their own line of quilt and quilted items patterns.
